EU: Time and country of origin influence our lifestyles and preferences.
EQ: How do time and the country where I live, influence my preferences, daily routines, and lifestyle?

Students are getting ready to participate in the modern art gallery recreating Serov's painting The Girl with Peaches. The times we live in and geographic location have a huge impact on everyday life. This knowledge enables us to understand the things we do on a daily or another episodic basis. Students recreate famous paintings transferring their cultural experiences.


Novice Mid-CEFR A1

Interpretive

Look at the painting and label as many objects as you can starting from the smallest end finishing with the biggest.

Interpersonal

Find a peer, exchange greetings, introduce yourself by giving simple biographical information, and ask each other Who and What questions about the painting.

Presentational

The girl in the picture seems very happy. Create an "equation" of her happiness. Then recreate the painting to tell us about yourself, your life, and your happiness. What makes you happy? Write your own "equation." All the pictures are to be presented at the class gallery. Attend the gallery and find if there are the same addends as yours.

Look at the painting and write down three Who, three What, three Where, and one When questions. Think about geography, location, and daily routines.

Presentational

Recreate the picture but make it about you and your lifestyle. Create a title card and present your picture. All the pictures are to be presented at the class gallery. Attend the gallery and find what is common and what is different in your and your classmates' preferences, and daily routines.
