Every year World Animal Day is observed globally in October with an aim to celebrate animal rights and welfare. School students are eager to support and help volunteers working to protect homeless animals in Russian-speaking countries.

The Global 16 Days Campaign was launched by Rutgers University's Center for Women’s Global Leadership (CWGL) in 1991. It has been used worldwide to call for the elimination of gender-based violence (GBV). The event runs annually from November 25 (International Day Against Violence Against Women) to December 10 (International Human Rights Day).
