This unit focuses on how to buy or sell clothing in China.
Through a variety of tasks, students will be able to explore, to learn and to make comparisons between Chinese culture and their own culture.
The final assessment will check students’ ability to buy and sell clothing in a Chinese clothing store.
Students will understand that Chinese people prefer to buy new clothing for celebrating their festivals.
Students will understand that Chinese people like red color clothing for festivals.
Students will understand that traditional Chinese clothes include Hanfu, Qipao, etc.
How do we apply Chinese in different social encounters in our life?
What is the meaning of red color in Chinese culture?
What is difference between Chinese clothing style and America clothing style?
Students can understand the reason why Chinese people prefer red clothing for celebrating their festivals.
Students will understand that, during Chinese festivals, Chinese people prefer wearing traditional or new clothing.
Students can compare the difference between the current payment method in China and the current payment method in the America.
Your school will celebrate the cultural day. To celebrate the cultural day, you and your friends want to buy some traditional Chinese clothes. Students need to be able to describe the real clothing with appropriate measure and color words. They are expected to express their own preferences, ask for and answer the price of clothing in a clothing store.
Students will be given a quiz practice in the Wordwall website to identify the clothing in the picture with appropriate measure words.
Students will work with partners to reinforce the knowledge of using different opinion words through Questions and Answers practice.
Students will work in groups with 4-5 people in one group to role play the scenario in a clothing store about buying/ selling clothing and accessories.
